PSv5 Installation Details!

Pocket Secure can be installed to the device in 2 different ways! From the PC using ActiveSync, or directly from the device using the CAB file format. In both cases, the program MUST be allowed to install to the default Main Memory of the device. Installing to a storage card or other built-in storage can result in a malfunction of the program, and the possibility of locking the device without access, resulting in a Hard Reset!

It is suggested to keep features such as Start At Power-on and Run After Reset 'Disabled' until you are sure that Pocket Secure is working well on your device! Please visit the new PS Support Forum for more information.



ActiveSync / PC Installation:

    Run the installation package from the desktop pc, while ActiveSync is running and connected to your device. Read and accept the "End User License Agreement". Continue with install, and allow 'Default' installation location. At the completion of the install, the help file will open for user reference!

CAB File Installation:

    Copy the CAB installer directly to any folder on your device. Tap or double tap to run the installation. Again, be sure to allow to install to the default location! Once the installation process is complete, the CAB file may be deleted to save space on the device!

Saving Your Settings:

    The new v5 will now save all settings from the previous version or from the trial. However these settings may not be saved upon the first upgrade to v5. A new DLL file will be loaded with this new version which will display a choice to save settings during all future updates.

Uninstallation:

    Please use the standard "Remove Programs" application that is built-in to the device when removing Pocket Secure! If any additional files or folders related to PS are left, they can then be manually deleted. If PS is removed by any other means, then error messages can result during power-on and reset! If this happens, please check the Windows Startup folder for any left-over files. Also using a program such as MemMaid or SK Tools, check for and delete any PS files left in the Notification Queue!


Pocket Secure is compatible with virtually all 2003, 2003SE WM5 & WM6, Pocket PC & PPC Phone Edition Devices. The new v5.0 is available in VGA (480x640) & QVGA (240x320) resolutions.
